Lily Silverton first arrived on her yoga mat as a young teenager keen to try something new and looking for help with scoliosis and back pain. She quickly found, however, that not only did the classes ease her body, they also eased her mind. Twenty years later Lily is a 300hr Registered Yoga Alliance Teacher who strives to bring her personal experience of the transformative and healing effects of yoga to others.
Lily holds a core belief that yoga should be for everyone, and teaches body positive yoga that celebrates bodily variations. She strives to create a safe and inviting space in which students are empowered to discover their own practice, and encourages the experience of yoga to be a complete holistic system of mindfulness, both on and off the mat. A writer and journalist, she frequently writes on yoga, body image, and wellness.
Lily is trained in the Sivananda school of Hatha Yoga, Insight Yin Yoga, and Yoga Therapy with Yoga for the Special Child. Her meditative, inclusive, breath-led classes integrate techniques from all these systems, as well as Vinyasa, Ashtanga, Restorative, and Chakra Yoga, along with her own former dance training and spiritual traditions from both East and West.
Lily encourages students to find their own flow and alignment, return to the breath, join mind with movement, and have fun!
